Liverpool have contacted Ederson agents, talks yet to begin

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder Ederson from Serie A club Atalanta this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Caught Offside, Liverpool have contacted the agents of Atalanta star Ederson. However, the Reds are yet to initiate any formal talks with the representatives of the 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder.

Ederson has been a key player for the Serie A club this past season, and he helped them win the UEFA Europa League. His performances suggest that he is good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the world, and a move to Liverpool will be an exciting opportunity.

Liverpool need to bring in more quality in the middle of the park this summer. Thiago Alcantara has left the club as a free agent and he will have to be replaced adequately. The Spanish midfielder was an exceptional performer for Liverpool, and replacing him will not be easy. However, the Brazilian has shown that he has the tools to develop into a complete midfielder.

He will help out defensively and chip in with goals as well. He will add control and composure in the middle of the park as well. Liverpool certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done, and it remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with the Italian outfit.

Ederson could fancy Liverpool switch

Ederson will feel that he has proven himself in Serie A, and he could be excited to take up a new challenge at this stage of his career. A move to the Premier League will be quite ideal for him, and he will look to hit the ground running in English football.

The 24-year-old is entering the peak years of his career, and he will want to compete at the highest level. Liverpool could provide him with that platform next season. Regular football in England will only help him improve further and fulfil his tremendous potential.

Liverpool will have to improve the other areas of their squad as well, and they cannot afford to overspend on the midfielder. The Merseyside club will hope that Atalanta are willing to sell the player for a more reasonable price this summer.
