West Ham United have reportedly submitted an enquiry to sign 24-year-old Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from La Liga club Celta Vigo.
According to Victor Lopez on Radio Galega’s Ao Contraataque, as relayed by Moi Celeste, Jorgen Strand Larsen is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window. And they have submitted an enquiry to sign the Norwegian striker from La Liga club Celta Vigo.
Who is Jorgen Strand Larsen?
Jorgen Strand Larsen has blown hot and cold since joining Celta Vigo from FC Groningen in September 2022. A native of Halden, he spent his formative years in his homeland before graduating from the youth division at Sarpsborg 08 FF.
Strand Larsen’s stock rose during his spell in the Netherlands before Celta Vigo snapped him up two years ago. Since then, the 24-year-old has made gradual progress, although his return in the 2023/24 season was sub-par as he managed 13 goals and three assists in 37 La Liga appearances.
However, Jorgen Strand Larsen’s stock in the market is high, with West Ham United interested in bringing him to the Premier League in the summer transfer window. And the Hammers have submitted an enquiry to sign the Norwegian international from Celta Vigo.
London calling
West Ham United’s interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window, with several candidates, including Rwan Seco, emerging on their radar. However, the Celta Vigo attacker is also a viable target for the East London club.
Danny Ings and Michail Antonio are on the wrong side of 30, with the former failing to make his mark at the London Stadium. On the other hand, Antonio is in the twilight of his career and no longer fit to be the first-choice striker. So, it behoves West Ham to sign a young striker in the summer transfer window.
It will be interesting to see if West Ham can convince Celta Vigo to part ways with the 24-year-old Norwegian international in the summer transfer window. They have initiated their move to secure Jorgen Strand Larsen’s services.
