Manchester City are ready to break the bank to acquire the services of Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze.
According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester City have identified Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as a top target for the summer and they are willing to fork out a significant fee to acquire his services. They were interested in him last summer as well and are now ready to make a return for his signature.
Eze hasn’t looked back since making the move from QPR to Palace in the summer of 2020. The English international has got better with every passing season and he has been one of the standout performers for the Eagles in recent years.
In the 2023/24 season, the attacking midfielder featured in 31 matches and he contributed towards 17 goals (11 goals, 6 assists). While the majority of his appearances have come as a number ten, the 25-year-old has also featured on the flanks when needed.
City are ready to pay a fortune for Eberechi Eze
His consistent performances have resulted in a lot of interest and Manchester City are keen on having Eze in their squad. They are impressed with his abilities to handle the ball, create chances and score goals.
City wanted to sign him last summer but they were not ready to meet the Eagles demand of €70 million. But, things could change this time around as Pep Gaurdiola’s team are quite serious about their pursuit of Eze. While the asking price has gone up to €90 million, the Premier League champions could meet Crystal Palace’s demands.
They are reportedly willing to break the bank to sign the English attacking midfielder ahead of next season. A move to City could be a great leap in quality for the player. The 25-year-old will get to play with some of the best players in the world and compete for all major silverware.
Meanwhile, his arrival could add a new dimension to Pep Guardiola’s star-studded team. He will not only strengthen them in the short run, but Eze could become a key player for them in the long run. While there is no shortage of interest in him, City seem to be in the strongest position to sign.
