Atletico Madrid are reportedly eyeing a move for Gabriel Jesus, with Arsenal seemingly ready to listen to proposals that come their way.
According to Fichajes, Atletico Madrid have joined the chase for Gabriel Jesus, with Arsenal reportedly ready to sell their Brazilian attacker. Jesus has fallen down the pecking order in recent months, and Mikel Arteta is already looking for a new centre-forward ahead of the summer.
Atletico Madrid chasing Gabriel Jesus?
Arsenal are an evolving team, and ahead of the summer, Mikel Arteta could make some ruthless decisions to improve his settings. That could result in the departures of some fringe players, while some key first-team stars might also face the brunt. For a while now, there have been suggestions that the Gunners could part ways with Oleksandr Zinchenko, and now Gabriel Jesus has been added to that list.
Arsenal could cash in on Jesus should they get the right offers for the attacker who cost them £45 million. He signed for that price in the summer of 2022 from Manchester City. Despite a bright start to life at the Emirates, he has been troubled by injuries during his two seasons there, and recently, Kai Havertz seems to have become Arteta’s preferred choice in the No.9 role.
With Arsenal looking for a new striker in the market, they could consider offers for the £45 million attacker. Atletico Madrid have joined the race for the striker, with Diego Simeone likely to look for a new centre-forward. The Brazilian might fit the bill for the Artgentine’s squad.
Moreover, Atletico might part ways with Alvaro Morata and probably view Jesus as the perfect replacement, as the Arsenal striker also provides a long-term solution. Hence, Simeone’s side might pursue a move for the Brazilian ahead of the summer. But things will depend on Arsenal’s demands and Atletico’s ability to pay up.
Two more suitors for Jesus
Before his move to Arsenal, Jesus had several other clubs, like Juventus, Chelsea and Real Madrid, chasing his signature. The Bianconeri are still interested, as they might revamp their frontline, which could potentially see Dusan Vlahovic or even Federico Chiesa.
Napoli are also reportedly keen, as per the story, with the Serie A club likely to view Jesus as a direct replacement for Victor Osimhen. Either way, Arsenal could revamp their forward line and look to cash in on the Brazilian for the right money.
