Chelsea eyeing up a move for Vanderlan

Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of 21-year-old Palmeiras full-back Vanderlan ahead of next season.

According to a report by UOL, Chelsea have been monitoring 21-year-old Palmeiras sensation Vanderlan for months now and they are looking to push for his signatures in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Vanderlan has come up the ranks at Palmeiras. He was promoted to their first team at the start of 2022 and hasn’t looked back since. He has featured in a total of 59 matches for their senior team and has contributed towards six goals.

His impressive rise and consistent performances for the first team have resulted in interest from across Europe. While his contract with the Brazilian club runs until the summer of 2027, he could still be on the move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Palmeiras’ stance & Chelsea’s interest

Palmeiras want to keep hold of the versatile defender but they might not be able to do so if European giants end up knocking on their door for his signatures. According to the report, a fee of €15 million could be enough to sign the 21-year-old who prefers playing as a left full-back but can even feature in the heart of the defence as well as a wing-back.

His versatility and performances have put him on the radar of English giants Chelsea. The Blues have focused on signing young players with huge potential over the past few transfer windows and that trend is expected to go on in the upcoming window as well.

Chelsea’s plans for Vanderlan

The London club have been scouting the 21-year-old for months now. They feel he could be a great signing in the long run. As a result, the Blues are willing to push for his signatures in the summer.

But, he won’t be a part of their first team straight away. The idea is to acquire his services and then loan him out to Strasbourg in order to continue his development.

The French club is owned by the same company that owns Chelsea. It will be a win-win situation for both clubs as the Blues will be able to secure his services for the future and Strasbourg will have a quality full-back for next season.
