Tottenham will make final decision on Timo Werner in May

Tottenham Hotspur signed Timo Werner on loan from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig during the January transfer window.

Timo Werner has been quite impressive for Tottenham Hotspur, scoring twice and picking up three assists in all competitions. They have an option to sign him permanently in the summer, and a report from Caught Offside has claimed that they will make a decision on his future in May.

The 57-cap German international has certainly proven himself to be a useful option for Tottenham, and they would do well to secure his services. Werner does not have a future at the German club. So, staying in the Premier League would be ideal for him. He has managed to adapt to Tottenham’s style of play with ease, and he could be a quality squad option for the club in the coming seasons as well.

Tottenham should look to sign Timo Werner

Tottenham are lacking in depth in the attacking unit, and they could use someone like Werner. The German international is versatile enough to operate on either flank, and he is capable of leading the line as well. Spurs need utility players like him to put together a formidable squad.

They are pushing for Champions League qualification next season and need a deeper squad to do well across multiple fronts. Having players like Werner will allow Spurs to rotate their squad and keep the players fresh.

The reported fee required to make the move permanent is quite reasonable as well. Tottenham can sign Timo Werner for a fee of around €17 million if recent reports are to be believed. The German international could prove to be a bargain at that price. He is also keen on permanently joining the North London club.

Werner is certainly enjoying his time at the North London club right now, and he will hope that Spurs decide to exercise their option to buy him permanently. He is at the peak of his powers right now and will look to continue to impress at Tottenham. He will hope to establish himself as a regular starter for the North London club in the coming seasons if the transfer goes through in the summer.
