Arsenal, Newcastle United run rule over Evanilson

Arsenal and Newcastle United are scouting 24-year-old Brazilian forward Evanilson ahead of a potential move in the summer.

According to a report by HITC, Arsenal and Newcastle United are both looking to bolster their attack ahead of next season, and they have their eyes set on Evanilson. They scouted the 24-year-old striker recently as they plot a potential move in the summer.

Evanilson’s impressive rise at FC Porto

Evanilson joined FC Porto in the summer of 2020 from Brazilian club Tombense. He has worked his way into their first team and has cemented his spot with his exceptional performances in front of goal. In the ongoing season, the Brazilian striker has 22 goals in all competitions.

He has featured in a total of 35 matches this term and has racked up close to 2,500 minutes. The 24-year-old has contributed towards a total of 28 goals. His consistent performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs, who are looking for a new striker with the summer transfer window fast approaching.

Arsenal, Newcastle United keen on Evanilson

Arsenal and Newcastle United are two English clubs keen on his signatures. While his contract with the Portuguese club runs until the summer of 2027, they could look to prise him away in the upcoming transfer window.

The Gunners already have a lot of quality in their attack, but they are still looking to add a new number nine to the mix amid the links with Viktor Gyokeres. Mikel Arteta is not that pleased with the output of his strikers and wants someone who can add a few more goals and help them compete with the very best in the world.

Evanilson is one of the names on their radar. But, Arsenal will have to compete with Newcastle United for his signatures. After having an exceptional season last time out, Newcastle United have failed to produce similar results this time.

The Magpies are looking to make multiple signings in the summer to improve their situation, with Lloyd Kelly also a target. And signing a striker is one of their priorities. The 24-year-old Brazilian striker has been on their radar for a while.

Both clubs scouting the Brazilian striker

Representatives of Arsenal and Newcastle United were both spotted in the stands to watch FC Porto square up against Estoril. And, Evanilson was the main reason for their attendance. Unfortunately, he could not really do much as his team ended up suffering a shock 1-0 defeat on the day.

They will look to continue scouting him before coming to any decision. The 24-year-old has shown a lot of promise of late and if he can end the season on a high, the two English clubs could battle it out for his signatures.
