Kobbie Mainoo ready to sign Manchester United deal

Manchester United’s 18-year-old midfield sensation Kobbie Mainoo is all set to put pen to paper on a new deal.

According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester United are closing in on a new deal with their teenage sensation Kobbie Mainoo. The English midfielder has been in sensational form this season and the Red Devils are looking to reward him with a new bumper contract.

Mainoo’s impressive rise

Mainoo has been a part of the United ranks since his childhood days. He made it to their first team in the winter of 2023 but only had limited opportunities last season. While he was expected to play a key part in the 2023/24 season right from the start, he picked up an injury which kept him out in the initial months.

Since returning from injury, the 18-year-old has been in sensational touch. He has worked his way into the United starting XI and has been a constant feature under Erik ten Hag of late. Mainoo has started each of their last 12 league outings and his performances have been right up there.

A new bumper deal for Kobbie Mainoo

His impressive rise and consistent performances have taken the people at the club by surprise. They feel he could be integral to their plans moving ahead and are looking to reward him for his exceptional progress with a mega-money contract.

Mainoo penned down a new deal back in February 2023 which runs until the summer of 2027 and there is an option to extend it by another 12 months. Despite him having years left on his current contract, the Red Devils have been in talks with the 18-year-old to offer him fresh terms.

The talks are in an advanced stage and all parties involved feel that a new contract could be agreed and signed in the near future. According to the report, the teenage sensation is ready to commit his future to United and sign a new deal with fresh terms.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS feel the 18-year-old could be a very important part of their plans moving ahead as they look to bring the glory days back to United. As a result, this new deal could be a major breakthrough for the new part owners.
