West Ham United keen on Eddie Nketiah

West Ham United are keen on bringing Eddie Nkletiah in the summer with Arsenal ready to sell their homegrown star.

According to HITC, West Ham would be interested in brokering a move for Eddie Nketiah when the striker becomes available in the summer. Mikel Arteta may not plan next season with the 24-year-old Arsenal ace, meaning the Hammers and other sides could have a big chance to snap him up for a reasonable fee.

West Ham eying Eddie Nketiah

The future of Eddie Nketiah could be resolved once and for all in the summer when the striker might leave north London for good. In the second part of the current season, the 24-year-old Arsenal ace has found himself on the fringes of Mikel Arteta’s plans, as the Gunners could make a critical decision on his future.

Arsenal are reportedly planning on signing a new striker, and by that, there will be a three-way tussle between Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and the new man for the no.9 position. That certainly leaves Nketiah without a role, as he may seek a new challenge where he’s considered one of the main stars in the centre-forward role.

Arsenal are willing to sell should the right offer arrive at their table. Nketiah, being a homegrown player, allows the Gunners to make a total profit from his sale, which seems essential in the day and age of FFP. Hence, a move away from the club for the 24-year-old Arsenal ace would make sense for all parties concerned. West Ham are now eyeing a move, having held an interest ahead of the January window.

The Hammers are looking at new striker options and have had links to Serhou Guirassy throughout January. However, they have narrowed their search with Nketiah and could pounce on the opportunity to sign the 24-year-old Arsenal ace. West Ham will soon learn the price for the Gunners academy star, with the north Londoners in an excellent position to demand a significant fee.

Are other clubs interested in Nketiah?

West Ham are certainly not the only club keen on Nketiah, as many other English sides are keen on making their move. Crystal Palace are still enthusiastic, while Leicester City might also approach should they successfully return to the Premier League.

There are more clubs in the mix, but that information has yet to arrive in the public domain. West Ham might see themselves as top contenders given their proximity in London. Leicester and Palace are also good options, although much will depend on how much Arsenal will demand for the forward.
