Manchester United had observers watching striker target Joshua Zirkzee in action as they step up their chase for the Dutchman.
Tutto Juve insists Joshua Zirkzee’s top draw performance against top-four rivals Atalanta was noticed as Manchester United observers were present for the game in Bergamo. The Red Devils are looking at the striker, who might now cost €60 million in the summer window.
Manchester United scout Joshua Zirkzee
Manchester United had been interested in Joshua Zirkzee since before the January window as they sought a new attacker to complement the then-misfiring Rasmus Hojlund. The latter has since picked up form, but the Red Devils does maintain an interest in the Dutchman ahead of the summer.
The complicated nature of his contract and Bayern Munich’s clauses could have forced Bologna to slap a huge asking price in January. However, looking at recent performances, the Serie A side wants €50-60 million for the attacker, with the Red Devils recently sending a scout to watch the €60 million-rated star in action against Atalanta.
He scored his tenth strike of the league season, and the recent call-up to the national side has boosted his market rate. As per the report, Zirkzee has no interest in rejoining Bayern, meaning the path for Manchester United may have cleared up ahead of the summer.
Manchester United might entertain the idea of paying a decent fee, although they face competition from a host of domestic rivals for the Dutchman. Should they make their presence felt early, the Red Devils may have an upper hand in the chase for Zirkzee.
Arsenal rival Manchester United for Zirkzee
While many top clubs have seen their names mentioned with links to Zirkzee, Arsenal have been particularly interested in the forward. Mikel Arteta might look for a new striker in the upcoming summer window to give the team a different dimension, meaning the Dutchman could suit their cause.
However, Zirkzee may not be their priority target, with other names like Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and Viktor Gyokeres potentially ahead of the Dutchman in that pecking order. This fact will boost Manchester United’s hopes of pursuing the €60 million rating, which is set to leave Italy one way or another.
