Chelsea and Manchester United are both ready to square up against Real Madrid for the services of Brazilian teenage sensation Rafael Venancio.
According to a report by Ge, Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid are all keen on the signatures of Rafael Venancio. The 17-year-old defensive sensation has made quite a name for himself with impressive performances and top clubs from across Europe are closely following his progress.
Venancio has been a part of the Corinthians youth ranks since 2017. He started with their Under-11 team and has since gone up the ranks. Currently, the teenager is a part of their Under-20 setup but he has often been involved with the first team.
The 17-year-old centre-back might not have made his first-team debut yet but his impressive performances in the age group haven’t gone unnoticed. He is considered to be a huge prospect for the future and clubs from across Europe are keen on his signatures.
There was interest in him during the winter transfer window as well. While Corinthians were aware of the fact that he couldn’t have forced an exit before turning 18, they still felt the need to give him a new deal with improved terms to keep him at the club.
Chelsea, United and Real Madrid are all keen on having Venancio in their ranks
While they have done their bit by extending his stay until the summer of 2026, he could still end up leaving in the summer with Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
The Blues have been focused on signing young prospects over the past few windows and Venancio seems to be an ideal fit for the club because of his age as well as his huge potential.
Real Madrid have invested a lot in scouting and signing players from South America in the recent past. Those signings have done wonders for them and they want to continue in a similar fashion. Venancio is a huge future prospect and there is a place for him on their roster with the majority of their defenders 30 and above.
As far as Manchester United are concerned, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS who now have full control over the club’s sporting decisions have decided to focus on young players. They want to invest in all areas but the major focus will be on defence and Venancio seems to be a young and exciting option.
He will turn 18 in three weeks time and there is a release clause worth €30 million in his contract that could lead to his departure.
