Manchester United unwilling to sell Marcus Rashford

New Manchester United minority owner INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are reportedly keen to keep Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford, despite links to Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in England international Marcus Rashford should he depart in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are keen to keep Marcus Rashford at the club for the long term, according to Football Insider.

Marcus Rashford attracting strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain

Last season, the versatile forward was in splendid form, notching 30 goals in 56 games across all competitions. Following such impressive performances on the pitch, Rashford earned a bumper new contract until 2029 at Old Trafford, which increased his weekly salary to a reported £325,000 a week.

This term, though, the 27-year-old appears to have lost all confidence once again and has only managed five goals and two assists in 24 Premier League appearances as the Red Devils look to hunt down Champions League qualification.

A raft attitude and off-field problems have also plagued the Englishman’s performances this season, and some have suggested that the Red Devils should aim to cash out on the player to cut their losses.

As such, Rashford is on PSG’s radar as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who will be leaving the club at the end of the season on a free transfer to join Real Madrid.

PSG are in line to save up to €300 million when their talisman departs, which will free them up to go on a massive summer spending spree. So, it’s not totally out of question that they are well capable of lodging a super offer if they step up their pursuit of the England star in the summer.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS still believe in Marcus Rashford

Despite supposed interest from PSG, Football Insider report that INEOS boss Ratcliffe is hoping to retain the services of the attacker in the summer. The report adds that the club chiefs “know what he can do” at his peak form.

INEOS’ stance makes sense since the forward has always been a streaky goalscorer who may return to form in front of goal at any time. Although he has been horribly out-of-sorts at times this season, there shouldn’t be any doubting his quality or the fact that he is still a regular in Erik ten Hag’s first eleven.

An in-form Rashford, paired with Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho, is certainly a mouth-watering front-three, and there have been flashes of the dynamic trio combining to good effect in their recent four-game Premier League winning streak.
