Joe Rodon keen on completing permanent move to Leeds United

Joe Rodon would be open to joining Leeds United on a permanent transfer should they gain promotion to the Premier League.

Football Insider insists Joe Rodon would be open to making his move to Leeds United permanent should the West Yorkshire side gain promotion to the Premier League. The decision could boost Tottenham, who are keen to sell him for around £10-15 million.

Joe Rodon open to permanent Leeds United switch

Joe Rodon never managed to establish himself at Tottenham, instead making his mark on loan moves away from the club. He took the unusual decision to join Leeds United in the Championship.

However, the move has been beneficial for the player, Leeds United, and especially Tottenham, as Rodon has been a critical player for Daniel Farke at Elland Road. The 26-year-old has made 29 appearances in the Championship for Leeds this season, as they currently sit in second, although third-placed Southampton can overtake them if they win their game in hand.

Leeds United wanted to sign Rodon on a permanent basis in January. But there were complications to complete that deal. The Welsh international remains open to joining the West Yorkshire club on a full-time basis if they gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Joe Rodon reportedly wants to play top-level football again and would only choose a first-division club next season. Hence, should Leeds United remain in the EFL Championship, they can forget about landing the defender permanently, although he would stay should they return to the top flight.

Tottenham set £10-15 million price tag on Rodon

Rodon’s openness to join Leeds United permanantely would be cheered by Tottenham as they will hope to get a sizeable return on their investment. Spurs have set a £10-15 million price tag on the defender, and Leeds United should be in a position to pay up once they are back among the Premier League’s elites.

It is a massive boost for Spurs if that happens, and for Rodon too, as his decision to join Leeds on loan would have paid dividends. Should everything fall in place, the 26-year-old would then look forward to becoming a regular at a Premier League club, something he has never achieved before.
