Aston Villa will slap a £50 million-plus price tag on Jacob Ramsey should they decide to sell him, with Tottenham keen.
According to Dean Jones on Give Me Sport, Aston Villa might consider a £50 million-plus fee to sell Jacob Ramsey in the summer. The Aston Villa prospect’s homegrown status adds much transfer value should the player depart, with Tottenham among a host of clubs keen to sign him.
Tottenham must pay £50 million-plus for Jacob Ramsey
Tottenham might re-evaluate their market position next summer, particularly their midfield targets in that window. Spurs tried to sign Conor Gallagher, as per multiple reports, but the midfielder chose to remain at Chelsea until the end of the campaign.
That call from Gallagher may have allowed the Spurs to step back and re-think their potential targets, and they have added Jacob Ramsey to the equation. The Aston Villa prospect has been superb since breaking into the first team but has struggled for regular starts this season.
After benching Youri Tielemans at the start of the campaign, the tables have turned on Ramsey, as the Belgian has become an essential player for Unai Emery. Ramsey continues to showcase his talents in a big way, although his future is far from secured owing to the homegrown status on his shoulders.
Aston Villa might have further ambitions in the transfer market and could use an excellent sale to boost their coffers. They are reportedly demanding £50 million-plus to sell Ramsey and might make the sale if any club like Tottenham, come up with that sort of money. Dean Jones insists that remains the case as he gave his two cents on the Aston Villa prospect’s future.
Tottenham are not alone in Jacob Ramsey chase
Tottenham are a strong contender for many top players, although they are not alone in the Ramsey chase. Liverpool hold an interest, while Arsenal have also considered the Aston Villa prospect, whose £70,000-a-week wages make him an attractive prospect.
Newcastle United enquired late in January and might have set their sights on a future move. Hence, Spurs must act fast if they are serious about Jacob Ramsey in the summer. The growing interest would benefit Aston Villa the most, as they can drive up the price for their academy star.
