Wolves are interested in a move for Amario Cozier-Duberry as Arsenal are yet to agree fresh terms with their academy star.
According to Ben Jacobs on Give Me Sport, Wolves are plotting a swoop for Amario Cozier-Duberry heading into the summer. The 18-year-old Arsenal wonderkid has an expiring contract, with the Midlands club keen to pounce should he not agree fresh terms in north London.
Wolves are interested in Amario Cozier-Duberry
Arsenal have a fantastic attacking setup, with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli dazzling for the last two seasons. The form of those two has rendered some of the promising attacking talents from the academy somewhat sceptical about their pathway into the first team.
Amario Cozier-Duberry, already dubbed as the ‘next Saka’, has struggled to break into the first team plans of Mikel Arteta. He has been reduced to training at times with the leading group and featuring on the bench in a few games for Arsenal. With the 18-year-old needing to play regular senior-level football, his expiring contract may provide an opportunity for him.
There have been links to Newcastle United, although Arsenal are confident of keeping him and extending his stay beyond the summer. However, now Wolves have joined the chase for the winger, as Gary O’Neil could offer him a chance to shine in the first team.
Ben Jacobs insists Wolves are interested in signing the 18-year-old Arsenal wonderkid. The Midlands outfit know his contractual situation and could pounce on the opportunity should Cozier-Duberry decide to leave the Gunners.
Arsenal keen on holding on to Cozier-Duberry
Arsenal might be aware of the growing interest in Cozier-Duberry, but they still feel confident of holding on to the teenage attacker for the longer term. The Gunners hope to extend his stay beyond the summer and will lay out a plan for the attacker to follow.
Being one of the rising stars from their Hale End Academy, Arsenal will feel they are in the driving seat regarding Cozier-Duberry’s future. The player himself might prefer a pathway into the Gunners’ first team over playing somewhere else, as this is his boyhood club, and he will have a dream to play for them at the Emirates.
