Copenhagen will demand £17 million for Roony Bardghji in the summer as Premier League clubs ramp up their chase for the teenager.
According to The Express, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Chelsea must pay £17 million for Copenhagen teenager Roony Bardghji in the summer. Copenhagen are demanding a club-record fee for the 18-year-old attacker amid heavy interest from Premier League sides, with more teams likely to chase the forward.
Roony Bardghji made a stellar mark on Premier League sides when he came off the bench for Copenhagen and scored a valuable winner against Manchester United in Denmark. The result did help his club in a big way to qualify for the Champions League round-of-16 round, as several teams eye a move for the teenager.
Chelsea have been in the chase since November, while the likes of Aston Villa and Brighton have also considered a move for the 18-year-old attacker. Copenhagen are aware of these clubs and more, as they set a club-record £17 million price tag on their winger.
Manchester United have scouted the winger and has been in the chase since the 18-year-old attacker impressed while playing against them. They might consider themselves a big contender in the chase, as Copenhagen are unlikely to budge on their demand, considering how many Premier League clubs are chasing the 18-year-old attacker’s signature.
Tottenham are also in the mix, as Ange Postecoglou might have considered moving for the Copenhagen attacker before switching their attention to Antonio Nusa. They did not end up singing the Norwegian as well, but there’s a clear indication about signing a new winger next summer, as Spurs could make themselves big in the chase for the 18-year-old attacker.
All of these clubs are chasing young, exciting talents for their squads, and Roony is already considered one of the most interesting attackers in Europe. The versatile winger can play wide and even as a makeshift striker if needed and has been suitable for Copenhagen this season.
The Danish side may not come in Roony’s way if he decides to leave for a new challenge in the Premier League. However, they are understandably maximising the attacker’s potential and making use of the massive interest from the English side, which could see them stick to their £17 million asking price.
