LOSC Lille are set to ask for €90 million to sell Leny Yoro amid links with Manchester United and Manchester City in January.
According to Fichajes, LOSC Lille’s president, Olivier Letang, will demand as much as €90 million from suitors to sell Leny Yoro. A host of clubs, including Manchester United and Manchester City, are vying to sign the 18-year-old French sensation, as there are chances of acquiring him for less.
Leny Yoro is in demand
Leny Yoro has become a sensation of sorts for his performances with LOSC Lille, where the defender, at 18, has become a first-team regular under Paulo Fonseca. The youngster has made 37 appearances for the club and has even had a handful of goals to his name.
His 6’3 frame and mature presence at the back have attracted some of the biggest names, with few of those ready to swoop in for the 18-year-old French sensation in January itself. A host of Premier League sides are keen, which includes Manchester City and Manchester United.
Liverpool are also credited with an interest, and so are Chelsea, with Yoro representing an option no big club wants to miss out on. Lille are eager to extend his current deal, which expires in 18 months. Hence, some of those teams are sensing an opportunity to snap him up, but things could get complicated.
Real Madrid have also been one of the keen teams, but they are no longer interested ahead of January. Lille president Olivier Letang has reportedly placed a €90 million price tag, which is designed to ward off suitors, although there are chances of signing him for less.
Manchester City and Manchester United battle it out for Yoro
The Manchester clubs have shown interest in bringing the 18-year-old French sensation to England, and there are chances they will make approaches in January itself. The two clubs have already established contacts, as either one will not want to miss out on the opportunity,
With Letang demanding close to €90 million, these clubs had hoped to sign him for less than half that sum owing to his contractual situation. Sure, if Yoro signs a new deal with Lille, then there’s no stopping the French side from demanding a fee of that sort. But if the player has no interest in extending, then things could be different.
This is where the Manchester clubs are open to exploiting a chance and making their presence felt in the race. Coming here could have mixed consequences for the defender, including a halt in his development, which has been superb since breaking into the Lille first-team squad.
