Liverpool, Tottenham could land Raphinha for £40-50 million next summer

Barcelona winger Raphinha has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur keen.

A report from Football Insider claims that Barcelona could now allow Raphinha to leave for a nominal fee of around £40-50 million, despite spending more on him when they signed him from Leeds United. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the Brazilian international.

Barcelona are going through financial difficulties, and they are ready to sanction a cut-price move for the winger. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool and Tottenham decide to come forward with a concrete proposal to sign the player in January.

The 26-year-old has proven himself in the Premier League with Leeds United, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the two clubs. Liverpool need to add more quality and depth in the wide areas.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are the only specialist wingers at the club. In addition to that, Salah has been linked with a move away from Liverpool at the end of the season. Raphinha could be a quality alternative if the Egyptian international decides to move on at the end of the season.

On the other hand, Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic are sidelined with injuries. Tottenham need more options in the wide areas, and the Brazilian international would be a quality addition. With Richarlison failing to live up to the expectations since his big money move, Spurs should look to cash in on their underperformers and sign Raphinha.

The 26-year-old will be tempted to return to the Premier League after a mixed spell with Barcelona. A return to his comfort soon could work wonders for him. Both Premier League clubs have the financial muscle to pay the reported £40-50 million asking price for the Brazilian international. So, it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Tottenham and Liverpool have started the current season in fine form, and they are well-placed to secure Champions League qualification. The 26-year-old could be attracted to the idea of joining both clubs, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
