Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United vying for Aaron Hickey

Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are all keen on having 21-year-old Brentford full-back Aaron Hickey in their ranks.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United want to acquire the services of Aaron Hickey. The 21-year-old full-back has made quite a name for himself while playing for Brentford, and there could be a bidding war for his services in the near future.

Hickey joined Brentford last summer from Bologna. He has already featured in 32 matches for the Bees and also has an assist to his name. 26 of his appearances came last season as he racked up close to 2,000 minutes.

The Scottish international managed to impress one and all with his consistent performances in defence. And, at this point in time, some of the biggest clubs in England as well as Europe are pushing for his services.

His contract with Brentford runs until the summer of 2026 but given the amount of interest on his services, he could part ways with the club in the near future. However, Brentford manager Thomas Frank does not want to lose out on the 21-year-old. Hickey is an important part of Frank’s plans moving ahead, and he has already featured in five Premier League games this season.

While the Bees will try their best to keep him at the club, they could consider offers of around £50 million for the Scottish sensation. Liverpool are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Jurgen Klopp is looking to add young players to the mix, and Hickey is one of his targets.

The 21-year-old’s arrival will allow the German manager to use Trent Alexander-Arnold in more central roles. Meanwhile, Arsenal are also expected to go hard for the Scottish international. They are looking for an attack-minded right-back, and the Brentford full-back fits the bill.

Mikel Arteta prefers having versatile players in his ranks, and Hickey is someone who could do wonders for him as he is capable enough to feature on both flanks. Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag is desperate to have a new full-back in his ranks at Manchester United.

The injury struggles of Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have caused a lot of trouble for the club in the recent past, and they want to have someone who can fill in for them. And, Hickey seems to be the perfect fit for the Red Devils. But with Brentford reluctant to part ways with him, it will be interesting to see how this story develops.
