Manchester City reach agreement in principle with Valentin Barco

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are closing in on the signatures of 19-year-old South American prodigy Valentin Barco.

According to Germán García Grova, Manchester City are keen on having Valentin Barco in their ranks. They have been pushing for his signatures for a while now and finally, they have an agreement in principle with the player over a potential transfer.

The teenage sensation has come through the ranks at Boca Juniors and is currently a part of their first team. Barco already has 21 first-team appearances to his name and he has even contributed towards three goals.

18 of his first team appearances have come this season as the 19-year-old has racked up close to 1400 minutes. His impressive performances on the left flank haven’t gone unnoticed and there is a lot of interest in his services.

The Argentine youth international is a natural left-back who can feature as a left-midfielder as well as a winger. His versatility along with his exceptional defensive abilities make him a huge prospect for the future. And, that is why Manchester City are keen on having him in their ranks.

The treble winners don’t really have much depth in the left-back position because of the recent transfer business that they have conducted. As a result, they are looking to sign a new defender and the 19-year-old seems to be a perfect fit for the club.

Barco is still quite young, he is expected to get stronger with time and could eventually be a regular in the City setup. The Manchester-based club have been monitoring him for a while now and of late, they were in talks with the player’s agent.

The talks have progressed well as City now have an agreement in principle with the player over a potential transfer. Representatives of the English club will now travel to Argentina to strike a deal with Boca Juniors for the transfer of the 19-year-old defensive sensation.

As things stand City are very close to acquiring the services of the Argentine youth international. The teenage full-back is an exceptional player and he will be a great addition to Pep Guardiola’s ranks if they manage to get it over the line.
