As per Danish outlet Tipsbladet, Liverpool admires 17-year-old Norwegian wonderkid Jens Hjerto-Dahl of Tromso. The Reds could eye a move for the talented teenager, with any possible move similar to that of Stefan Bajcetic.
Liverpool have been one of the experts in developing young talents in the Premier League, particularly under the era of Jurgen Klopp. The Merseysiders have a brilliant track record of bringing up unpolished gems and converting them into bonafide stars.
There are quite a few examples, with Stefan Bajcetic being the most recent one of them all. The former Celta Vigo teenager has made a name under Klopp since last season when the manager introduced him while other midfield ideas weren’t working.
Now, they are eying a player of a similar profile from the emerging market of Norway, as Liverpool are interested in Jens Hjerto-Dahl of Tromso. The 17-year-old Norwegian wonderkid has attracted the attention of some notable clubs with his mature performances.
He recently broke into Tromso’s first team setup, boasting three goals and two assists in 13 games for the senior side. It’s a respectable return for a deep-lying midfielder considered a future defensive midfielder. Danish side Brondby are Liverpool’s competitors for the youngster. Norwegian outlet Nordlys stated the Merseysiders had sent scouts to watch Hjerto-Dahl in action recently, and since then, reports of a potential move have emerged.
Hjerto-Dahl is not the only Norwegian on Liverpool’s radar, as they had recently entered the race to sign Antonio Nusa. The winger provided two assists during Norway’s win over Georgia, in which Premier League stars Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland scored.
As for Hjerto-Dahl, a move to Merseyside may benefit his development, although Liverpool may prefer him to spend a year with the U21 team. Klopp will certainly give him a chance in the first team if he can emerge as a breakthrough star.
