Eric Dier set to join Al-Nassr

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, and he will soon move to Al-Nassr.

According to journalist Mohamed Alkaoud, Eric Dier is set to join Al-Nassr. The 29-year-old was heavily criticised for his performances for Tottenham last season and it seems that he is heading to Saudi Arabia for a new challenge.

Saudi Arabian clubs have been highly active in the transfer market this summer, and they have signed a number of quality players from major European leagues. Some of the most prominent names arriving in the country have been Sadio Mane, N’Golo Kante, and Karim Benzema.

Now, Eric Dier is set to join the footballing revolution in Saudi Arabia. The 29-year-old will look to regain his form with regular football for Al-Nassr, and he should prove to be a quality acquisition for the Saudi outfit.

Dier is versatile enough to operate as a central defender, a full-back as well as a defensive midfielder. His versatility will be an asset for Al-Nassr. The 29-year-old utility man looked quite error-prone last season, and Tottenham should look to bring in an upgrade this summer.

The North London outfit conceded a whopping 63 goals in the league last season, and players like Dier and Davinson Sanchez had to endure plenty of criticism from fans and the media. The move to Al-Nassr will be a fresh start for the 29-year-old Tottenham utility man, and he will look to get his career back on track.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will have to replace the player adequately this summer. They have already signed Micky van de Ven, and Ashley Phillips in order to strengthen their defence. They are being linked with a move for the Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet as well.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bring in the right reinforcements and plug the weaknesses in their defence before the summer transfer window closes. Dier is still at the peak of his powers and he could make a lasting impact at Al-Nassr. The 29-year-old England international will look to make his mark in the Saudi Pro League and help his side win major trophies.
