Kylian Mbappe open to season-long Premier League loan move

Kylian Mbappe is open to a loan move to the Premier League, but are there any takers for his £62 million-a-year salary?

According to Daily Star, as relayed by Paisley Gates, Kylian Mbappe could open his doors for a loan move to the Premier League. PSG have overlooked the French superstar in their plans ahead of the season. But are there any takers in England for his £62 million-a-year salary?

There is no end to sight for the Kylian Mbappe saga, with PSG ready to make a telling decision for the season ahead. As things stand, the 24-year-old has decided to see out his deal with the Parisians. Hence, there are no guarantees he will feature in their plans for the season.

He has not trained with the first-team squad since deciding not to sign the extension. Since he remained at the club beyond July 31, the 24-year-old will pocket a hands-on loyalty bonus, and things have gone out of PSG’s hands.

They had hoped a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia would have helped them make a stellar profit on their investment. PSG even accepted a £259 million bid from Al Hilal. The Middle Eastern club reportedly offered Mbappe a salary worth more than £600 million on a one-year contract. Yet, the striker refused to speak to their delegation.

Now, all PSG can hope for is finding a club that might take the French superstar on loan, which could save them his mammoth £62 million-a-year salary. Liverpool were also linked with Mbappe for a similar deal. But can the Merseysiders afford such an agreement for only a year?

Similarly, Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with Mbappe, and the latter may still ponder taking over his contract for only one season. There’s little chance of the Gunners jumping over this one, as Mikel Arteta may not disturb his current squad with a temporary signing of this sort.

The outlet now claims Mbappe is open to making such a move possible. There have previously been suggestions that the player and his mother have a special affection for Liverpool. In any case, Jurgen Klopp had laughed off this suggestion of making a move a few days ago, and that’s unlikely to change.

Moreover, PSG also believe Mbappe has an agreement with Real Madrid to join them on a free transfer. That was also the basis of the Saudi Arabian offer and will surely deter any Premier League big-wigs from making an offer. Hence, it is unlikely that any English side will show desperation to sign the Frenchman, not least by taking over his £62 million-a-year salary.
