Noah Darvich will reportedly join Barcelona this summer, with the Blaugrana shelling out €3 million to sign the 16-year-old German sensation.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Noah Darvich will end his stint with SC Freiburg in the next destination. And the 16-year-old prodigy is on the verge of joining Barcelona. The Blaugrana will fork out a base fee of €3 million to the Bundesliga club, with add-ons taking the package to €5 million.
Noah Darvich is one of the most promising young prospects in his homeland. The German under-17 international started his youth career at Sportfreunde Eintracht Freiburg before joining SC Freiburg half a dozen years ago. And he has come leaps and bounds in the Bundesliga club’s academy in the last six years.
The 16-year-old is an attacking midfielder by trade and has been a prolific customer for Freiburg’s youth sides. Darvich has a solid record of nine goals and five assists in 23 appearances for the club’s under-17 team. And he has also turned out thrice for the under-19 outfit. But the youngster will end his stint at the German club this summer, with Barcelona on the verge of signing him.
The Catalan giants are renowned for constantly foraying into the market for prodigious prospects. And such an outlook has meant that young prodigies join Barcelona in droves every year. They have also been active in the market this summer, signing Mikayil Faye and Vitor Roque.

But Barcelona’s efforts to sign a young wonderkid have not always paid off. They recently lost the race to sign Tudor Mendel-Idowu, who has joined Anderlecht after leaving Chelsea. But that has not deterred Barcelona from pursuing other prodigies. And Noah Darvich will become the next whizkid to join Barcelona.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed in a separate report that Barcelona will pay a base fee of €3 million to sign Darvich. And add-ons will take the value of the package to €5 million. But the Italian journalist has not revealed the team Darvich will represent in the upcoming season.
Considering the 16-year-old German sensation was turning out for SC Freiburg under-19, he should at least ply his trade for Barcelona at the same level. And it will be interesting to see if he can secure a quick path to first-team football at the Catalan club.
