Tottenham submit enquiry for Jadon Sancho

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing struggling Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.

Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that Tottenham have made an enquiry for Jadon Sancho over a move in the summer transfer window. Manchester United signed the struggling winger for £73 million.

Sancho has been quite underwhelming since his move to Manchester United. And recent reports have claimed that the Red Devils are contemplating whether they will cash in on him. The England International has not been able to live up to the expectations at Old Trafford. So a lucrative offer could tempt Manchester United into selling the player.

However, the winger earns £350,000 per week at Manchester United, and Tottenham are unlikely to be able to afford that. Sancho will have to take a major pay cut in order to move to Tottenham this summer. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham decide to follow up on their interest with a concrete offer to sign Sancho.

Sancho was regarded as a world-class talent during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and he was outstanding in Germany. He was expected to develop into a world-class player for Manchester United. But the signing has clearly not worked out.

A move away from Manchester United would give him the fresh start he needs right now. Tottenham could provide him with the platform to showcase his abilities without being put under too much pressure.

The North London giants will not be playing in the Champions League next year, and they will look to bounce back strongly and secure a top-four finish. Signing a quality attacker could prove to be a wise decision for them.

Players like Son Heung-min and Richarlison were quite underwhelming last season and Sancho will add competition for places which will help the squad improve. The England international is still quite young, and he has plenty of time to improve and fulfil his world-class potential.

Ange Postecoglou will look to get the best out of his players during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, and he could be the ideal manager to bring out the best in the Manchester United winger as well.
