Atalanta are reportedly interested in a movie for Mason Greenwood, but Manchester United could also use him in a deal for Rasmus Hojlund.
According to 90 Min, Mason Greenwood has a new suitor in Atalanta. The Bergamo side are keen on the beleaguered 21-year-old Manchester United ace, but the Red Devils could use him to pursue their interest in Rasmus Hojlund.
Mason Greenwood continues to endure a testing period in his career as he has to make a big decision regarding the direction of what he wants to do next. The 21-year-old Manchester United ace was charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault in January 2022.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service have since dropped all charges about the accusations, but there’s still no route back into Manchester United. The Club have opened their investigation and will determine what they want to do with the 21-year-old striker.
Manchester United have a big decision on the striker, as he continues to divide public opinion. Many fans would like to see the back of the forward, but some feel he should be given a fair chance. There’s the idea of sending the striker away temporarily, with Roma one of the teams keen on signing Greenwood.
Now, Atalanta are contemplating making a move, with interest in the striker growing in Bergamo. They have reportedly held talks with Manchester United over a move, but the Red Devils may have other ideas. The Red Devils are interested in Rasmus Hojlund, which could play in their favour.
They are reportedly contemplating involving the two strikers in a deal. The report insists Manchester United could look to send Greenwood on loan to Atalanta while getting a report on the asking price for Hojlund. Whether the scheme works remains the question, but it could suit all parties.
Atalanta could view Greenwood as a replacement for Hojlund, although they would like to have him permanently. The Red Devils are keen on a striker in this window but have been priced out of most deals for their priority targets like harry kane and Victor Osimhen.
