Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea to compete for Romeo Lavia

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are vying for Romeo Lavia ahead of the window, as interest could rife up in the Belgian international.

According to 90 Min, Romeo Lavia will likely become a hot subject of transfer speculation ahead of the next few weeks. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are among the teams vying for the £50 million-rated star, but Southampton’s asking price could still prove problematic.

News around Romeo Lavia has been mixed from the perspective of some of the interested clubs in the midfielder. Southampoton’s £50 million asking price has proved a big reason to cool the interest in the midfielder.

Southampton are reportedly ready to reduce the asking price to £40 million, which may revive the interest of top clubs in the midfielder. The £50 million-rated star has the attention of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, but any move will depend on many factors brewing at each side.

All three clubs could look to sign the Belgian in this window, but he’s more of a contingency option. Liverpool were formulating a plan to sign the midfielder, but recent reports suggested they have cooled their interest. Yet, this story insists they could involve themselves in the chase, but we suspect it could happen at a later stage.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are keen to bring Moises Caicedo, but they may have baulked at Brighton’s massive asking price. They hold a concrete interest in the Ecuadorian, but the whole chase seems delicate with their finances and other details.

Chelsea could consider Lavia a contingency option if they fail to sign Caicedo. There’s a slim chance they will bring both those midfielders, as it’s Lavia or Caicedo at this stage. Hence, it may appear that the Blues will take their time deciding on the £50 million-rated star, who would still come cheap compared to the Brighton man.

Meanwhile, Arsenal seems like they could continue making a swift decision in this window. They could make more signings in the coming weeks after an aggressive start that saw them bring Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber.

Their decision to sign Lavia would depend on the departure of Thomas Partey. With the likelihood of that happening in the balance, Lavia seems like the most desired option for Mikel Arteta. Hence, it’s safe to assume the three clubs have the £50 million-rated star in their plans, but the timing of a move will prove crucial.
