Real Betis rival Barcelona in Giovani Lo Celso pursuit

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso could be on the move this summer, with Barcelona and Real Betis keen on signing him.

According to Bolavip, La Liga clubs Real Betis and Barcelona are keen on signing 27-year-old Argentine playmaker Giovani Lo Celso during the summer transfer window.

It is clear that the midfielder does not have a future at Tottenham, and he will be sold permanently this summer. Both Real Betis and Barcelona could use more depth in the final third, and Lo Celso could prove to be a quality acquisition. The Argentine international will add creativity, vision and control to their teams.

Lo Celso has not been able to hit top form in recent seasons and will be desperate to get his career back on track. A return to his former club Real Betis could help him regain his confidence and sharpness. The midfielder managed to score 16 goals during the 2018/19 season at the Spanish club.

His move to Tottenham, who signed him for €32 million, has clearly not worked out. And a permanent exit from the London club would be ideal for all parties. Lo Celso has struggled to adapt to English football and a return to the Premier League does not make sense for him.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been linked with a number of creative midfielders in recent weeks, including James Maddison. It is evident that Lo Celso will not get ample opportunities at the Premier League club next year.

If Barcelona and Real Betis are prepared to give him regular first-team opportunities next season, the player should look to jump at the opportunity to join them. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement with Tottenham. The North Londoners will look to recoup a respectable amount of money for him this summer.

Spurs need to strengthen their squad and they need to bring in a number of signings. They will look to recoup as much as possible from their fringe players, and Lo Celso could certainly fetch them substantial money.

The midfielder has proven his quality in La Liga in the past, and he could prove to be an excellent acquisition for the two La Liga clubs if he manages to regain his sharpness next season. But Tottenham are unlikely to recoup €32 million from his sale.
