Bundesliga clubs are reportedly interested in 21-year-old Real Madrid whizkid Sergio Arribas, with other prospects also on their radar.
According to a report by German outlet Bild, as many as nine Bundesliga clubs recently scouted several Real Madrid prospects. Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Eintracht Frankfurt are the well-known outfits running the rule over the youngsters. And Sergio Arribas is the most attractive whizkid on their radar.
Sergio Arribas has been an outstanding performer in Real Madrid’s youth and reserve division over the years. The Spaniard joined La Fabrica from CD Leganes over a decade ago. And he rapidly rose through the ranks before becoming a regular for Real Madrid Castilla a few years ago.
The 21-year-old was outstanding this past season for Real Madrid Castilla and the first team. He even found the back of the net in the Club World Cup while contributing to 28 goals in 40 outings. But with Arribas not having a clear pathway to regular first-team football, a summer departure might be on the cards.
The Spanish midfielder has no shortage of suitors pursuing him, with recent reports linking him with Valencia. But a move to the Bundesliga might be on the cards. The latest development has come in the wake of a scouting mission by nine clubs to run the rule over several Real Madrid prospects.
Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Eintracht Frankfurt are three outfits that scouted Arribas and others against CD Eldense. The match was the first leg of the final, with Real Madrid Castilla and Eldense seeking promotion to the Segunda Division. And Arribas and Alvaro Rodriguez were the most interesting players for the Bundesliga clubs.
As for Arribas, he has seemingly hit his peak at Real Madrid Castilla and is ready for first-team football. But he will not get regular game time in the first-team squad at the Santiago Bernabeu. So moving to Germany will serve the 21-year-old Spanish whizkid well in the coming season.
