Chelsea are ready to offer three players to Inter Milan as they look to acquire the services of 27-year-old Andre Onana.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea are very keen on acquiring the services of Andre Onana. The 27-year-old shot-stopper has been on fire since joining Inter Milan and is a priority transfer target for the Blues.
The English club are willing to go all out to acquire him. They are ready to offer three players for the former Ajax star who led Inter to the Champions League final in the recently concluded season. The Blues are ready to offer Trevoh Chalobah, Kalidou Koulibaly and Romelu Lukaku in order to land the 27-year-old.
In a cash deal, they are willing to offer around £35-£40 million to strike a deal with the Italian club. Meanwhile, reports suggest a fee of around £43 million could do it for the Blues. Chelsea are not happy with their goalkeeping situation; neither Kepa Arrizabalaga nor Edouard Mendy has been consistent enough.
They have failed to make the number-one spot their own. And, their new manager Mauricio Pochettino wants the goalkeeping situation sorted ahead of next season. He is a big fan of the Inter Milan shot-stopper who had the most clean sheets in the 2022/23 Champions League season. And, would love to have him in his ranks.
The 27-year-old has managed to revive himself after joining Inter and has gone from strength to strength throughout the season. As a result, going for his services does make sense. Meanwhile, the Blues have signed quite a few players over the past few windows. Pochettino is planning a mass clearout ahead of next season to restore balance to his squad.
The former Spurs boss is looking to offload players who are no longer in his plans. And, at this point in time, neither Chalobah, Koulibaly or Lukaku is a part of his plans. Chalobah and Koulibaly are way down the pecking order and they have failed to make an impression in the recently concluded season.
Meanwhile, Lukaku was on loan at Inter for the 2022/23 season after a disappointing year at Chelsea. And, the player is keen on continuing at the Italian club. As a result, offering the trio in return does make sense. As far as Inter are concerned, they do need defensive reinforcement and Lukaku might not have lit up the world but he has been important to their run and having him back will surely help them.
