Arsenal eye summer swoop of Fikayo Tomori and Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal are ready to spend significantly on Serie A duo Dusan Vlahovic and Fikayo Tomori as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen key areas.

According to Calcio Mercato Web, Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing €120-130 million-rated duo Fukayo Tomori and Dusan Vlahovic. AC Milan and Juventus could accept bids if the price is right, but can the Gunners spend so much?

If Arsenal gets most of their transfer targets, they are looking at an outlay of close to €300 million. Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar have set out to strengthen the squad sufficiently enough to challenge for honours next season.

They have already started making moves in the market, as Declan Rice remains their primary target. They are also tipped to make a fresh bid for Moises Caicedo in the coming days, which might close their midfield business in the window.

They might also look to sign full-backs, a centre back and, if their budget permits, a new striker. Dusan Vlahovic’s name has rung in the media again after Arsenal failed to bring the Serbian in January 2022. The striker is reportedly unhappy at Juventus, who might consider a sale at the right price.

Juventus could ask for €70-80 million in return, which may make Arsenal re-think their strategy. The Gunners have competition, with Chelsea also keen on Vlahovic. As things stand, and considering the Bianconeri will not play in the Champions League, the Serbian might open his doors over an exit.

Meanwhile, the report also links Arsenal with a move for Fikayo Tomori. The former Chelsea academy star has been brilliant since signing for Milan. The Rossoneri are not interested in selling him unless a club comes in and meets their demands.

Milan could demand more than €50 million for Tomori and has plenty of Premier League interest coming his way in the summer. Arsenal needs a new centre-back to add quality depth and rotation for Arteta. They are also keen to extend William Saliba’s contract, having already managed that with his defensive partner Gabriel Magalhaes.

The €120-130 million-rated duo could exponentially increase Arsenal’s budget during the summer. However, the outlay is not considered a priority for the Gunners, who are keen to strengthen their midfield with the signings of Rice and Caicedo.

Budget permitting, they might look to spend more, but from the €120-130 million-rated duo, they might only sign one. Arsenal have ambitions and a big plan, but it may not see them spend like some of their Premier League counterparts, for instance, Chelsea.
