Manchester City, Newcastle United willing to fork out €40 million to sign Gabri Veiga

Gabri Veiga has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League, with Manchester City and Newcastle United interested.

According to Calcio Napoli 24, Manchester City and Newcastle United have now joined the race to sign Gabri Veiga. Apparently, the two English clubs are prepared to fork out €40 million for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Veiga has been a key player for Celta Vigo this season, scoring 11 goals and picking up four assists across all competitions. He will add some much-needed creativity and goals to the Newcastle midfield. The Magpies have qualified for the Champions League and they need better-quality players to do well in Europe

Veiga has the potential to develop into a top-class player and Newcastle would do well to secure his services. The Magpies are one of the richest clubs in the world, and the reported €40 million fee would hardly be an issue for them.

However, they are up against Manchester City who are just as wealthy and they are a more attractive destination as well. Pep Guardiola’s side have a proven track record of challenging for major trophies every season and they could end up winning a historic treble this year. The opportunity to play for them could be a more attractive proposition for the young midfielder.

Furthermore, he would get to work with one of the greatest managers of all time in Pep Guardiola who could help him improve and fulfil his potential. It remains to be seen where the 21-year-old ends up eventually.

The player has been heavily linked with clubs like Liverpool as well. It remains to be seen whether the likes of Newcastle United or Manchester City can win the race for the 21-year-old’s signature in the coming weeks now.

Veiga is a highly talented player with immense potential and the €40 million move could prove to be a major bargain in the long run. Both Newcastle United and Manchester City have the finances to get the deal done, and the player will probably look to select the ideal project for him now Veiga needs to play every week and he is likely to get that opportunity at Newcastle more often.
