Manchester United ready to shelve Harry Kane move till 2024

Manchester United are ready to wait until the summer of 2024 to acquire the services of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

According to The Athletic, Manchester United are keen on having Harry Kane in their ranks and they are ready to wait until the summer of 2024 if needed, in order to land the 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur forward.

The Red Devils have had a great first season under the leadership of their new manager Erik ten Hag. They have won a trophy and qualified for the UEFA Champions League next season. While Manchester United have done a great job under the guidance of the Dutch manager, they still have a lot to work on.

The Manchester United manager has identified a few areas that need reinforcement ahead of next season and his priority is to bring in a new star striker. Ten Hag is keen on having someone who can share the goal-scoring load with Marcus Rashford, and he has his eyes on Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

The 29-year-old’s contract at Spurs ends in the summer of 2024. And a few clubs across Europe, including Manchester United and Real Madrid, believe they have a chance to prise him away from the London club.

The Dutch manager believes Manchester United have a chance to land the England international at the club and wants football director John Murtough to at least test Daniel Levy’s resolve. Levy might listen to offers until the end of the summer and could even sell as he might not want to risk losing out on Kane for free next summer.

However, reports suggest that Spurs will not let their star striker leave irrespective of the price and they are willing to take the risk of him running down his contract and leaving for free. While Manchester United’s priority is to push for his services in the upcoming window, they can even wait for the 2024 summer to acquire him for free, if Spurs don’t allow a move to take place ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are set to face competition from Real Madrid who are looking to replace Karim Benzema. They believe Kane is the ideal candidate and even the player likes the destination.

But, with Los Blancos ready to spend a fortune on Jude Bellingham, they might not be able to financially afford a move for Kane in the summer and they have Kylian Mbappe as their main target for next summer. As a result, the Red Devils might eventually win the race for the 29-year-old.
