Manchester United will have to break the bank and pay €50 million for the services of Jeremie Frimpong.
According to Bild via Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on having Jeremie Frimpong in their ranks. The 22-year-old defender has been on fire of late, and he is on the radar of multiple clubs from across Europe.
Frimpong has been one of the best defenders in the ongoing season in the Bundesliga. The 22-year-old right-back has hardly put a foot wrong throughout the campaign. He has been rock solid in defence and has also contributed to their attacks.
The Dutch international who came through the ranks at Manchester City has been involved in 47 matches in the ongoing season. He has 20 goal contributions to his name. The 22-year-old full-back has scored nine goals and also has 11 assists to his name. His performances have attracted a lot of attention and there could be a bidding war for his services in the summer.
Manchester United are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. They recently made an enquiry about the availability of Frimpong and according to reports,
The 22-year-old’s contract at Leverkusen runs until the summer of 2025. With almost two years still left on his contract, the Bundesliga club will have the upper hand in negotiations. And, they are in no hurry of letting him leave.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are keen on having him. Erik ten Hag might have done a decent job in the ongoing season but he believes they still need to reinforce their squad to take the next step. The Dutch manager feels the need to strengthen his defence.
While Diogo Dalot has done a decent job at right-back, Ten Hag still wants to add another attacking full-back to his ranks. And, he believes adding the 22-year-old will help them take the next step. However, it will be interesting to see if they are ready to meet the €50 million asking price for his services.
