Real Madrid might launch the offensive to re-sign 24-year-old Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi from PSG this summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Achraf Hakimi is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are keen on signing a right-back in the summer transfer window. And the 24-year-old PSG defender has emerged as a top target for Los Blancos.
Achraf Hakimi rose to prominence during his stint with Real Madrid. The Moroccan international joined La Fabrica in 2006 before going through the ranks at Real Madrid. But he found a stable footing during a two-year loan spell at Borussia Dortmund. And he has come leaps and bounds in the last three seasons, including a short run at Inter Milan.
The 24-year-old has been with PSG since July 2021 and has gone from strength to strength at Parc des Princes. And Hakimi has chipped in with nine goals and 11 assists in 79 appearances thus far for PSG. But the player might leave Les Parisiens in the summer transfer window, with Real Madrid interested in him.
Real Madrid will likely invest in a right-back in the summer transfer window. That is because Dani Carvajal has regressed considerably in the last few years. And with the veteran Spaniard no longer a dependable performer for Real Madrid, Los Blancos will have to delve into the market for an alternative.
Several right-backs, including Kyle Walker, have thus emerged on Real Madrid’s radar. But while Walker will bring experience to the table, Hakimi can be a long-term right-back solution. So the 24-year-old PSG defender is a viable target for the outgoing La Liga champions.
Recent reports have also claimed that the Moroccan international wants to return to Real Madrid. But PSG’s strained relations with Los Blancos might complicate matters for the full-back. But Real Madrid might still present an offer to the French champions as Florentino Perez looks to beef up the first-team squad.
