Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham at the end of the season.
Tammy Abraham has nine goals and seven assists to his name across all competitions. And a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that Manchester United and PSG are hoping to sign him during the summer transfer window.
Abraham has been a quality player for Roma since joining the club from Chelsea last season, and he has helped them win the UEFA Europa Conference league already. The 25-year-old is a regular starter for the Italian club. But it remains to be seen whether he is prepared to join a club like Paris Saint-Germain, where there are a number of quality attackers and he might not be a regular starter.
Abraham needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and he cannot afford to sit on the bench at a big club. He has been linked with Arsenal earlier this year. The 25-year-old will be hoping to cement his place in the England national team ahead of the European Championships next year. A move to PSG might not make sense for the player anytime soon.
On the other hand, Manchester United are in need of a quality centre forward. Marcus Rashford has been in splendid form this season, and he has carried the Manchester United attack since the start of the campaign.
However, Rashford needs more help and support from his teammates. Erik ten Hag must look to bring in a reliable goal scorer and Abraham would be a quality acquisition. However, the Red Devils are hoping to win league titles and challenge for the Champions League trophy.
So Manchester United must look to aim higher than Abraham. And the former Chelsea striker could prove to be an underwhelming addition. While the 25-year-old remains a talented player, he is not good enough to lead the line for clubs hoping to win the Champions League in the coming seasons.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United and PSG act on their interest and follow up with a concrete proposal for the striker at the end of the season. The player has a contract with Roma until the summer of 2026. So the Italian outfit are under no pressure to cash in on him.
