Arsenal plot Rasmus Hojlund move

Arsenal are keen on signing Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in the summer but have serious competition from other rivals for the Danish striker.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are very serious about their interest in Rasmus Hojlund. The Gunners could step up their chase of the Danish striker, valued at €50 million by Serie A club Atalanta, as Mikel Arteta looks to add an offensive outlet to his team.

Rasmus Hojlund is making a name at Atalanta following an impressive season with the Serie A side. The Danish striker only joined the Italian club in August last year but has steadily become their primary choice in front of goal.

While he has 13 goals across all competition for two clubs, only six have come for Atalanta in Serie A across 19 appearances. He also has two assists to his name, which showcases his ability to contribute more to the attacking side of things.

Atalanta know about the growing interest in the Danish striker and could demand a significant fee of around €50 million for the Dane. Real Madrid are one of the clubs keen, with the Spanish giants eager to bolster their attack with a young, emerging star.

Besides them, Arsenal are also keen on the striker, as Mikel Arteta looks to add an offensive outlet to his side. With Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus considered similar in style, Hojlund could provide a different dimension with his presence.

While Jesus remains their preferred first choice, someone like Hojlund could add a new layer and become his backup next season. Arsenal have missed the Brazilian due to an injury suffered at the World Cup. But Nketiah has provided good cover in his absence.

Atalanta’s €50 million asking price may prove reasonable for the Gunners, who are in the market for a new striker. Hojlund, 20, is the kind of player Arsenal will seek in the window, with his age and playing style fitting their profile requirements.

Meanwhile, if they manage to bring the striker to the Emirates, it could spell the end for Folarin Balogun. The 21-year-old continues to enjoy a fruitful loan at Reims, where he has notched 15 Ligue 1 goals this season.

Balogun has tremendous interest from Serie A clubs, and Arsenal could cash in after one good season under his belt. As for Hojlund, he has already drawn comparisons to Manchester City star Erling Haaland for his playing style. The Danish international could flourish under Arteta and become one of the stars of the Premier League in the coming years.
