Chelsea to demand €50 million for Mason Mount amid Juventus interest

Mason Mount has reportedly been linked with a move away from Chelsea, who will demand at least €50 million for his sale.

According to a report from Calciomercatoweb, Mason Mount is disgruntled at Chelsea, and he has not agreed to sign an extension with them yet. And the Blues will demand around €50 million in exchange for his services.

The 24-year-old has been linked with clubs like Liverpool recently. And it remains to be seen whether Chelsea are prepared to cash in on him. Reports from Italy claim that Juventus are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old England international as well.

Apparently, Chelsea could demand around €50 million for the midfielder, who has a contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2024. Mount was Chelsea’s Player of the Year for the last two seasons. But things have not gone according to plan for him this year.

The 24-year-old has not been able to hit his usual highs. And a fresh start could be ideal for him at this stage of his career. There is no doubt that the England international is a top-class talent with a big future ahead of him. Mount is yet to enter his peak years and is likely to improve further.

The 24-year-old will add some much-needed creativity and goals to the Juventus midfield if the Italian giants manage to pull off in signature. However, the €50 million asking price could be too steep for them amid their recent issues.

It remains to be seen whether the midfielder’s suitors from the Premier League are prepared to pay the €50 million asking price for him in the coming months. Mount is well-settled in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact at clubs like Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already sold Jorginho to Arsenal. And they are likely to lose N’Golo Kante as a free agent at the end of the season. Losing Mason Mount as well will weaken their squad significantly. And it remains to be seen whether Todd Boehly can bring in the necessary reinforcements.

The Blues signed Enzo Fernandez from Benfica during the January transfer window. And it seems they will have to bring in more than just one central midfielder in the summer now. But it is unclear if Chelsea will wilt to Mount’s wage demands or part ways with him.
