Liverpool, Real Madrid join Victor Osimhen race

Liverpool and Real Madrid have joined Manchester United in the chase for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen,

According to Fichajes, Liverpool and Real Madrid are the latest clubs to join the chase for Victor Osimhen. The Napoli striker could make a big move out of Naples in the summer, with Manchester United also keen on the 24-year-old frontman.

The summer market is already taking shape as many clubs identify their priority needs well before time. It certainly has become a theme among top sides to know what they want before making early moves as soon as the market opens.

Liverpool are well known in that aspect as they now have several needs in the next window. Their priorities remain to sign a new midfielder, but bringing Victor Osimhen could prove difficult to turn down.

The Napoli star is on the list of several top clubs, and Liverpool is chasing him. They might have massive talents in Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota to lead the frontline, but someone like the 24-year-old would instantly make them contenders.

Whether they can conjure up a huge fee to please Napoli president Aurelio di Laurentiis remains the question. There are fears regarding their financial capabilities if they miss Champions League qualification, but for now, they could still pursue the frontman.

Similarly, Manchester United are one of the favourites to sign Osimhen. Erik ten Hag will run the rule with the club hierarchy in pursuit of his top target, as a striker remains an essential need for next season.

The only problem for Manchester United could come from Real Madrid, who are now one of Osimhen’s suitors. Florentino Perez will have an acute eye in the market for a new striker as he recognises the need to bring in a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema.

They remain linked with Rayan Cherki of Lyon, but the youngster will take plenty of time to adapt. Meanwhile, Osimhen will bring immediate results on the pitch, and his price tag may not prove problematic for Perez.

Overall, it does seem like Osimhen will be a hot property when the summer window opens. For now, Di Laurentiis maintains he is not for sale, but if the player wishes, the Napoli supremo will entertain bids close to his valuations.
