Real Madrid will run the rule over 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Matheus Franca during the Club World Cup next month.
According to a report by Defensa Central, Real Madrid will take the opportunity to scout a Brazilian wonderkid at the Club World Cup. The reigning La Liga champions will participate in the competition next month. And they will run the rule over Flamengo midfielder Matheus Franca.
Matheus Franca is the latest prodigious prospect to rise in prominence in Brazil. A graduate of the Flamengo academy, the 18-year-old is already a regular for the Brazilian club despite still being in his teens. And the young midfielder has made his mark with his ability to consistently score goals from the middle of the park.
In addition, the teenage whizkid provides a physical presence in the middle of the park. The Brazilian wonderkid has featured twice thus far this season, chipping in with a goal. And Franca’s progress has not gone unnoticed either, with several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid, setting their sights on him.
The 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid has been on Real Madrid’s radar for nearly a year. Los Blancos first scouted the young midfielder in 2022 and even considered submitting an offer for him. But a move never materialise, although Franca remains a target for Real Madrid to this day.
The continued interest is hardly surprising, considering Luka Modric’s advancing age. In addition, Toni Kroos is also approaching the final phase of his glittering career. And Real Madrid will need to sign at least one long-term successor to the duo. Jude Bellingham is thus a top target for Real Madrid.
But with several Premier League heavyweights in the equation, the Merengues need to keep their options open. Franca is thus an option worth considering for Real Madrid. And Los Blancos will take the opportunity to run the rule over the 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid during next month’s Club World Cup.
But the reigning La Liga champions need to be wary of competition for the player’s signature. That is because clubs like Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are also interested in Franca. So it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid will prise the 18-year-old away from Flamengo anytime soon.
