Manchester United are tracking the movements of Celtic defender Josip Juranovic and could proceed with an offer if the situation suits them.

As per 90min, United are interested in securing the services of Celtic’s Croatian right back Josip Juranovic and might test their resolve with a teasing bid. The Red Devils are crying for a backup for Diogo Dalot and will certainly bring in someone in the January transfer window.

Despite their failure in the Champions League, Celtic have been unstoppable in the Scottish Premiership and have only lost once in their last 12 games. Ange Postecoglou revolutionised the Bhoys as he delivered a domestic double last season and could replicate that as they are leading the top-flight table with four points.

Juranovic’s versatility to offer his service from both ends has made him a hot prospect and United did consider the idea of bringing him to Old Trafford in the summer. But talks didn’t fall in the right place and they were robbed of a chance to land the player.

With Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future up in the air, his departure could certainly witness the arrival of a new right back. Dalot has been involved in every match so far and United simply cannot risk getting him exhausted by using him excessively throughout the season.

Juranovic is expected to be called up for the World Cup and will have a chance to showcase his mettle in front of the whole world. He arrived from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2021 for a paltry sum of £2.5 million and has already proved to be a bargain buy.

Celtic are bracing themselves to be flooded with offers after the World Cup and should they receive a handsome bid they could be ready to cash in on the player.

United won’t be able to invest a big amount in the winter transfer window as they need to offload players in a bid to invite new arrivals. Erik ten Hag’s assistant Steve McLaren is a huge fan of the player and might persuade the manager to break the bank for him.

A striker and a right back have been prioritized in January and it remains to be seen how the picture unfolds for the Red Devils.

This would be a move in the right direction especially for Celtic.
