Liverpool could suffer a severe jolt in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham as they might lose the race due to the massive finances required to bring the player.
As per Neil Jones, as relayed by Caught Offside, Liverpool might just fall behind for the move of Jude Bellingham as the money needed for the transfer might not be afforded by the English Premier League giants.
Liverpool have not had the greatest of starts this season as they have fallen much behind the pace of the Premier League. Back-to-back losses at the hands of Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have shaken up their confidence and they need some morale boosters in the next few games.
Jurgen Klopp’s temporary investment in Arthur in the summer couldn’t be of much help as the Brazilian is currently in a treatment room and will be needing a longer period to be completely match-fit.
Both Jordan Henderson and James Milner have aged and they won’t cope well with the rugged nature of the Premier League while Thiago and Naby Keita’s injury issues have often created problems for the Reds.
The Reds will be eyeing a midfield fitting in the mould of Klopp’s system and Bellingham would be a perfect fit. The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the most talented young midfielders and Dortmund would demand a fortune to part ways with the player.
The German side are pretty relaxed given Bellingham’s lengthy contract situation but might feel the urge next summer. Liverpool are expected to be indulged in a tough battle for the transfer of the player but Neil Jones feels they won’t have the money to fund the move.
”There’s no secret Liverpool want Bellingham and would like to sign him. The question has always been finances and the competition.”
Both Manchester United and Real Madrid are also tipped to go for the player who has lit up the Bundesliga with his quality. He has already netted nine goals in all competitions this campaign and to involve in such goal-scoring situations from the midfield one does need to have the talent.
