German midfield maestro Toni Kroos has revealed that he will return at Real Madrid but remains undecided when he will hang up his boots.
While speaking in a press conference, as relayed by ESPN, Toni Kroos spoke about his future. And the German midfield maestro insisted that he would retire at Real Madrid. But he is not sure when he will hang up his boots.
Toni Kroos is one of the best midfielders of his generation, enjoying success at multiple clubs. But he has attained legendary status at Real Madrid after arriving from Bayern Munich over eight years ago. During this period, the 32-year-old has been a mainstay at the back for Los Blancos and won multiple major honours.
The German playmaker has been renowned for his partnership with Casemiro and Luka Modric over the years. The trio forged a formidable midfield unit that covered all bases and formed the bedrock of Real Madrid’s success.
But Kroos, who has made nearly 400 appearances for Real Madrid while chipping in with 25 goals and 86 assists, has entered the final eight months. So the reigning La Liga champions are in a spot of bother over the veteran midfielder’s future. And Kroos has now spoken his mind on the issue, insisting he will retire at Real Madrid.

“I feel very good physically, I’m very happy. I’m calm. It’s funny, sometimes I read things [about my future] but even I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’ve said I’ll think about it next year, or now during the [World Cup] break. Then I’ll try to decide what I want to do.”
“I’ve always said that I won’t go anywhere. I won’t change clubs. I’ll retire here. The only thing I don’t know is when. I don’t know what I think. We’ll see next year, but the club and I are calm… We’ll talk in January, February, or it could be March. Don’t get nervous, because I’m not!”
Recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid will soon open contract renewal talks with Kroos. But with the German midfield maestro admittedly undecided over his future, it will be interesting to see if he continues at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond the 2022/23 season.
