Four clubs interested in Alex Collado

Olympiacos, Celtic and two La Liga clubs are reportedly keen on signing Alex Collado from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

According to reputed Spanish journalist Albert Roge, Alex Collado will not have a shortage of suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window, with four clubs keen on signing him. Olympiacos, Celtic and two La Liga sides are interested in the Barcelona prospect.

Alex Collado spent his formative years with two Spanish clubs before joining Barcelona as an 11-year-old over a decade ago and graduating from their famed La Masia academy in 2018. The young Spaniard was one of the most promising young prospects in his homeland during his youth career and captained the Catalan club’s reserve team.

The 23-year-old made his first-team debut for Barcelona in May 2019 but has managed only one more appearance for the Blaugrana since then. While the young attacker was a consistent performer for Barcelona B, first-team opportunities have come at a premium.

Collado’s prospects will unlikely improve in the 2022/23 season, with Barcelona’s offensive unit filled to the brim. A departure from Camp Nou, either on loan or a permanent deal, will help the Spanish prospect continue his progress instead of being a bit-part player at the Catalan club.

The Spaniard had excelled in his loan spell at Granada in the second half of the 2021/22 season, making 23 appearances for the Nazaries while finding the back of the net twice. Collado has returned to Barcelona this summer but does not feature in Xavi Hernandez’s plans. However, he does not have a shortage of suitors, with four clubs keen on signing him this summer.

Greek giants Olympiacos, Scottish heavyweights Celtic and two La Liga clubs have shown interest in the 23-year-old prospect. Albert Roge has not specified whether the four teams want to sign the Barcelona attacker permanently or on a season-long loan deal in the ongoing transfer window.

As for Collado, the youngster wants to play in a European competition in the 2022/23 season, which should leave Olympiacos and Celtic as the favourites. But the idea of playing in La Liga also appeals to him, so it will be interesting to see where he plies his trade in the new campaign after leaving Barcelona.
