Bayer Leverkusen centre-forward Iker Bravo reportedly has an agreement with Atletico Madrid over a summer move amid interest from Real Madrid.
According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of 17-year-old centre forward Iker Bravo. Real Madrid have had a long-standing interest in the youngster, but their local rivals now seem to have taken the lead in the race to sign Bravo.
The Bayer Leverkusen teenage sensation is a Barcelona youth product and moved to Germany just last year in a free transfer. Bravo has been sensational since joining the Bundesliga club, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 14 matches for Bayer Leverkusen’s under-19 side and three goals in as many appearances for their under-17 side.
The teenage wonderkid was also handed a first-team debut for the Bundesliga club, playing once in the league and once in the DFB Pokal, although he could not get on the scoresheet. Nevertheless, Bravo is a highly-rated forward and his performance in Germany has put both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid on alert.
The Spaniard has displayed good form for his country’s under-17 side as well, scoring 11 goals in just 14 matches for them. All of this points to a bright future for the 17-year-old prospect, who could be on his way back to Spain after just a year in Germany amid interest from Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid have showed strong interest in the forward, but Atletico Madrid have seemingly agreed on terms with Leverkusen and are now the outright leaders to complete the 17-year-old attacker’s signing. Should the Rojiblancos complete Bravo’s signing, he will become their fourth summer acquisition.
The Spanish giants have so far signed Argentine right-back Nahuel Molina, Brazilian winger Samuel Lino and Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel. Real Madrid, on the other hand, have made just two signings this summer and look like a settled unit going into the 2022/23 season.
Carlo Ancelotti has added German centre-back Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer from Chelsea and French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco for €80 million. It looks like Real Madrid will not sign any more players, with Iker Bravo likely to join Atletico Madrid.
