Kylian Mbappe has reportedly agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, inching closer to leaving Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.
According to a report by The Athletic, Kylian Mbappe has moved one step closer to completing a Bosman move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. The two parties have reached an agreement on personal terms, but Paris Saint-Germain will continue to work towards securing the Frenchman’s long-term future.
Kylian Mbappe has been sensational since he burst into the limelight over half a decade ago at AS Monaco. The move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 has done wonders for the Frenchman’s career, with the player achieving tremendous success at the club and international levels.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a top-notch 2021/22 season, amassing 36 goals and 26 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. But Mbappe could leave Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent in the summer transfer window, with his contract expiring next month. Such a situation has captured the attention of several high profile clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid.
Real Madrid attempted to secure the services of Mbappe for a nine-figure sum last summer, but PSG managed to keep hold of their prized asset. Les Parisiens were hoping to tie Mbappe down to a new contract, but the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is yet to commit his long-term future to them despite their repeated attempts to offer him plenty of riches.
Meanwhile, Mbappe has become Real Madrid’s priority target, with Los Blancos recently meeting his family to inch closer to securing his services on a Bosman move. Mbappe could replace Gareth Bale at the Santiago Bernabeu, but he would essentially be Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-sought successor, considering the sheer number of goals and assists he brings to the table.
As per the reliable David Ornstein, Real Madrid and Mbappe have already reached an agreement on personal terms, with the two parties taking another step towards sealing a Bosman move. But with the Frenchman yet to officially sign on the dotted line, PSG’s hopes of retaining his services have not ended yet.
However, Real Madrid’s confidence over landing Mbappe has gone through the roof following the latest developments. Unless things change dramatically, one can expect Mbappe to complete a long-expected Bosman move to Real Madrid, who will soon get hold of their priority target.
