Liverpool will find out who they will face in the Champions League final in Paris when Real Madrid and Manchester City face off in the second leg of their tightly contested semi-final.
Salah in his comments, quoted by Goal, hoped Liverpool face Real Madrid instead of Manchester City in the final. The Egyptian may have revenge on his mind after losing the 2018 Champions League final to Real Madrid, where he suffered an untimely shoulder injury that ended his night prematurely.
Salah said, “Yeah, I want to play Madrid. City is a really tough team, we’ve played against them a few times this season. If you ask me personally, I’d prefer Madrid. We lost in the final against them, so I want to play against them and hopefully win it from them as well.”
Salah’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain, as he is yet to sign a new deal with Liverpool. Irrespective of what transpires in the saga, the Egyptian forward could write his name in the club’s history by winning the Champions League this season.
Liverpool next face Tottenham at the weekend, hoping to keep up the pressure on Manchester City in the title race. After that, they visit Aston Villa before facing Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
