Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly made a contract offer for Bayern Munich star Niklas Sule who will be a free agent in the summer.
According to Fichajes, Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule is a man in demand heading into the summer transfer window later this year. Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United are keen on signing him and have tabled contract offers to capture him.
Sule has been a mainstay at Bayern Munich since arriving from TSG Hoffenheim and has tasted plenty of success during his time in Bavaria, winning several Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League crown in 2019/20. The 26-year-old, though, will soon be departing from the Allianz Arena as his contract expires in six months.
Sule has confirmed that he will not be signing an extension, alerting several top clubs across Europe over his availability. And Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United have all emerged as potential suitors for the Bayern Munich centre-half heading into the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid need reinforcements in defence as they signed just David Alaba last summer despite losing two of their pillars of strength in Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos. While Eder Militao has stepped up admirably this term, along with Alaba, Los Blancos lack quality beyond the pair with Jesus Vallejo not trusted by Carlo Ancelotti while Nacho is not getting any younger.
Niklas Sule, thus, has emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid, and they have submitted a contract offer to lure him to the Bernabeu. However, they will have to stave off the threat from Chelsea, who are also making a play to sign the former TSG Hoffenheim starlet. With Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen all out of contract in the summer, a new centre-back is a necessity.
Thomas Tuchel, to that end, has identified Sule as a potential option, although Chelsea are also looking at Real Madrid’s Militao. Apart from Chelsea and Real Madrid, Manchester United, too, are in the mix to sign the German international and are believed to have made a contract offer for him already.
Manchester United will be selling Phil Jones in the summer, while Eric Bailly could also move on in search of regular football. With Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire failing to convince, the Red Devils will need a solid centre-half to partner last summer signing Raphael Varane. And Sule is among the options being considered by Ralf Rangnick’s side.
However, as per the report, despite offers from the three clubs, Sule could end up staying in Germany as Bayern Munich’s arch-rivals, Borussia Dortmund, have also expressed an interest in signing the 26-year-old. With his time at the Allianz Arena fast drawing to a close, it will be interesting to see where the defender ends up next season.
