Chelsea outcast Emerson Palmieri is reportedly on the verge of sealing a return to Italy, as a loan move to Serie A champions Juventus beckons.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter, Chelsea are set to offload out of favour left-back Emerson Palmieri, with the Italian international poised to complete a loan transfer to Serie A champions Juventus.
The 26-year-old Emerson joined Chelsea from AS Roma in January 2018, but has struggled to carve out a place for himself in the starting XI at Stamford Bridge. The left-back has been in and out of the lineup, swapping places with Marcos Alonso over the past couple of seasons.
And, following the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City in a big-money deal this summer, Emerson has dropped further down the pecking order at the West London outfit. Indeed, the Italian international has featured just twice this term, with both his appearances coming in the Carabao Cup.
With Chelsea looking to trim their squad before the transfer window closes, they have now agreed to loan the left-back out as per Nicolo Schira.

Juventus had been linked with a swoop for Emerson earlier this year and the Bianconeri are finally set to land their man, albeit on a temporary deal. As per the journalist, Emerson has already agreed personal terms with Juventus, with a return to Italy imminent.
Emerson is among a number of fringe players who could leave Stamford Bridge on the deadline day, either on loan or on permanent transfers. New signing Malang Sarr is expected to be on his way out on loan to FC Porto, whereas forgotten star Victor Moses is also tipped to return to Italy, with Inter Milan keen on securing his services.
Furthermore, Tiemoue Bakayoko is also on his way to the Serie A, with Chelsea already agreeing a loan fee for the Frenchman with Napoli.
Emerson will be leaving the Blues after having made just 57 appearances in over two years at the club. In the process, he has scored a solitary goal, while setting up two more for his teammates.
The 26-year-old still has two years left on his current contract with the Blues and it will be interesting to see if he is able to revive his career at Stamford Bridge next year after the loan stint or moves on permanently.
