Arsenal Confirmed Lineup vs Leicester City: Aubameyang in for Ozil; Koscielny benched

Unai Emery has rung in the changes as Arsenal prepare to face Leicester City. with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang coming in, while Mesut Ozil and Nacho Monreal are entirely out.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has named a rather conservative lineup intending to bring balance in attack and defence. Most of the team that played against Wolves feature, but there are some necessary changes made in defence and attack for the Leicester tie. Laurent Koscielny is kept on the bench after playing five games in a row, while Nacho Monreal is entirely out of the matchday squad.

Shkodran Mustafi, who was heavily criticised for his role in the loss to Crystal Palace comes back in central defence to partner Sokratis. Sead Kolasinac replaces Monreal at left-back, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles retains his place on the opposite flank. Koscielny is on the bench to provide defensive cover if needed.

As expected, Granit Xhaka partners Lucas Torreira in central midfield. The Uruguayan will be tasked with shielding the defence, while Xhaka will play the ball forward. Matteo Guendouzi is on the bench for this clash and could help the team if the manager deems necessary. Another option on the Arsenal bench for a midfielder is Mohamed Elneny,

In attack, Mesut Ozil is entirely out of the matchday squad. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, despite his poor performance against Wolves, keeps his place in the side and will take Ozil’s No. 10 role. Alex Iwobi will probably play from the right side of attack, while the returning Aubameyang will take his place on the left flank. Alexandre Lacazette will be Arsenal’s central striker against Leicester.
